grey day

other than the matchbox houses across the river with their maritime colours, the sky and river are nearly alike, save for the silver shimmer on the water, all is grey and murky. only the canada geese are active, madly courting with their strange cacophony of desire and battle.

art for the poor, lazy or travel averse..

google is going to capture the worlds art. meanwhile most museums have online galleries already. the big catch, how will they gather info about you? are you a warhol, monet or a da vinci?

meanwhile visit a gallery. do you know anything about titian, turner or thomson?

chicken soup and vick’s vapo rub

i’m waiting for the cure to happen. two days of homemade chicken soup, french bread and peanut butter cookies have not put a dent in my cold…damn if it’s not worse. now resorting to vick’s vapo rub, lots of fluids and good old aspirin….and hours of bed time. god i’m old today!

egypt

what a remarkable change in direction…maybe! egypt’s youth may change the future, but the establishment will take control. meanwhile here in canada, our youth sits back and lets the opportunity for change pass them by! it depressing at times and makes me long still to live in europe, where young and old seem to have a desire to have a voice. vive la france vive!

i wish i knew how to quit you

…oh unrequited desire. how is it that what you can’t have is often placed before you to tempt your heart and torment your soul.

stephen colbert nails it….again

a dissapointing science…

…weather forecasting in vancouver is hopeless! your odds are just as good if you ask a 5 year old on the street. we’re told it will rain and we get days of sunshine, we’re told we’ll get snow on tuesday…january 4, 2011 and all we see is a light drizzle. give it up! cbc’s claire martin tries too hard to be cute and informative…fails at both.

do it yourself!

true story. on the way home on skytrain, an elderly…well my age, gentleman, scruffy but not of the street, sorted through his shopping bags to pull out a book…hair cutting for dummies! he was, to be truthful in need of one and appeared to have done his last one in the dark. the minds image…

new years search for cheap gas

it can be found…sort of. beautiful clear day with amazing mountain views as we drove up the valley. mt. baker without a cloud in sight and the coast range sharp against the cobalt sky. oh, gas…a little stop on the fraser highway 2 minutes down the road for aldergrove $1.079.

awesome day to end the year

crisp and cold this morning -6, offset with a glorious sunrise. i only had my canon powershot and could not get a decent photo facing the sun.

i’m one of the very few on their way to work. the roads are sparse with cars and on the seabus, snowboarders outnumbers us working stiffs.
